Sesame Seared Ahi with Spinach & Rice

It’s amazing what few sesame seeds and some sesame oil can do. See for yourself with this simple, healthy recipe. Sear the tuna for a minute or two on each side and pair with sautéed spinach and big serving of rice for a well-rounded meal.

Ingredients:

  • ahi tuna
  • rice
  • spinach
  • oil or butter

Seasoning:

  • sesame seeds
  • sesame oil
  • fresh ginger or ground ginger

Equipment Needed:

  • Pan
  • Pot
  • Stovetop

Step 1: Cook rice according to package instructions
Step 2: Oil and season ahi tuna
Step 3: Heat oil or butter in a pan over high heat
Step 4: Sear ahi tuna for 1-2 minutes per side, until it develops a golden crust, but is still almost raw in the middle
Step 5: Rinse spinach under some water and then dry the spinach
Step 6: Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat
Step 7: Saute spinach 3-5 minutes, until spinach is wilted. Stir the spinach every minute or so.
Step 8: Plate ahi tuna, rice, and spinach together and serve!
